In the beginning there were 49 numbers, but there are more now…

The excitement of playing the lottery is a universal feeling. The mere thought of hitting the jackpot and changing one’s life forever is enough to get anyone’s heart racing. Recently, I came up with what I believed to be a brilliant idea that would allow me to indulge in the thrill of the lottery without breaking the bank: a lotto sweepstake among the staff at my school.

Having recently deleted my football betting app, I thought this alternative approach would not only be more cost-effective but also provide us with more opportunities to win. With a proposal of £10 per month, I suggested that each participant contribute to a collective fund. The money would be pooled together, and we would use artificial intelligence (AI) to select our lucky numbers from the vast range of options available in the lottery draw.

To my surprise and delight, seven of my colleagues eagerly signed up and transferred their money. However, I quickly found myself defending against accusations that I might utilize the funds for personal mortgage payments. Rest assured, my intentions were purely in the spirit of fun and camaraderie.

With £80 at our disposal, we could purchase multiple lines for the draws scheduled between the 21st of June and the 19th of July. Determined to maximize our chances of winning, I downloaded the official Lotto app, created an account, and transferred the funds…
